Shyam Saran Commitee

Shyam Saran (born September 4, 1946) was Foreign Secretary with the Government of India.

He is a 1970 batch Indian Foreign Service officer. Before this, he has served as Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Indonesia and Myanmar, High Commissioner to Mauritius, Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Chief of Mission in Tokyo and Counsellor in the Indian Embassy in Beijing. He also served as India's special Envoy for Climate change from April 2008 to February 2010.

Shyam Saran acts as the NSAB (National Security Advisory Board).
Shyam Saran was asked by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to oversee the border infrastructure development and situation at the LAC by visiting the Ladakh and Siachen sectors.
The Team under Shyam Saran is referred as "Shyam Saran Commitee"

Dhyan Chand Award


Dhyan Chand Award is India's highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games, given by the Government of India. The award is named after the legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand. The award was initiated in 2002. The award carries a cash prize of INR 5 lakh (500,000 rupees), a plaque and a scroll of honour.

In August 2013, 4 individuals were awarded the Dhyan Chand Award:


Syed Ali (Hockey),
Mary D'Souza (Sequeira) (Athletics),
Anil Maan (Wrestling) and
Giriraj Singh (Para-Sports).

Dronacharya Award

Dronacharya Award is an award presented by the government of India for excellence in sports coaching. The award comprises a bronze statuette of Dronacharya, a scroll of honour and a cash component of Rs.500,000.
